THE LEADERSHIP CHALLENGE

October 16 & 17, 2009

The Leadership Challenge is a time we set aside each year to inspire and cheerlead the current and prospective leaders of Christ Church.

At this year's Challenge, Dr. Collings shared a shift in our leadership thinking. Presently as leaders we function with excellence in accomplishing ministry tasks. This has produced our church’s present effectiveness. In the future we must add to this excellence the skills of being “Purposeful Finders” and “Passionate Keepers.”

Below, you will find audio and video links to this session as well as the two other primary sessions of the conference. We hope that you find them helpful in developing your leadership gift.

Session 1: What Does Winning Look Like?
Dr. Dave Collings

At Christ Church we gage whether we are winning or not by answering the question: Are we accomplishing our mission?...

Attracting people to the excellence of Jesus Christ, the joy of ministry,
the adventure of faith, and a lifestyle of generosity.

Winning requires all of us striving together for all that Christ has for us to do. We win or lose together!

Session 2: Janus Leadership
Dr. Dave Collings

Psalm 9:10
Janus Leadership means that we must constantly look outside the church as Purposeful Finders (seeking to reach those people who are far from God), and inside the church as Passionate Keepers (loving and caring for those God has already brought into His family).

Session 3: We are Crusaders!
Dr. Dave Collings

2 Timothy 2:10
Crusading successfully with the Gospel of Jesus Christ requires a compelling vision. Otherwise we won't take the necessary risks; we won't innovate, improve, or persevere.
