"Your Moral Line"
Dear Friend,
We all draw a line somewhere in our thinking about life. Some draw the line as a “moral line,” permitting themselves to do wrong things if they think they will not be found out. Others draw a moral line to live a clean life; clean in their thoughts, emotions and choices.
When we do wrong, even if no one ever discovers it, we damage our own souls. When we live clean lives, we strengthen our souls and mature into lives marked by dignity. If you draw your moral line to live a clean life, however, you will need help. The culture around us conspires against this commitment. I suggest three sources to help live the noble life:
- Clearly identify your moral weaknesses – This raises your awareness of the thoughts and situations you must avoid.
- Consistently associate with others who aspire to live clean lives – The people around you strengthen or weaken your moral commitments.
- Resort to Christ’s companionship daily – I John 1:9 reminds us:
“If we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have companionship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all unrighteousness.”
I encourage you to draw your moral line today to live a clean and noble life. I assure you that Christ will partner with you in your commitment and lifestyle to be men and women of moral dignity.
