"God Rewards Belief”
Dear Friend,
We live in a generation that glorifies doubt and skepticism. We learn at every level of our education to question everything. The 24-hour news networks pound us with reports and stories written to expose the bad and ugly in people, events – and even nature. We assume that we doubt our way toward a better future, but this assumption deceives us. Believers – not doubters – profoundly influence the future. In the Biblical story of the twelve spies, this truth became evident. Ten doubting spies accomplished less than two believing spies.
Why is belief powerful?
- Belief offers ideas and possible plans while doubt undermines.
- Belief inspires hope while doubt erodes.
- Belief energizes people to at least try and to do something. Doubt, on the other hand, mocks trying and insults any action that is not perfect.
You cannot doubt your way into a noble future. You must believe your way forward. The author of the book of Hebrews taught this very idea when he wrote:
“Without faith (belief) it is impossible to please God, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.”
Hebrews 11:6 (NAS)
God rewards belief! I invite you to consider what you believe and how your beliefs are enriching, encouraging and inspiring you to live life to its fullest, and create a better tomorrow.
