"Life Mistakes”
Dear Friend,
On Sunday, we discussed the very difficult topic of life mistakes for which we are forgiven, but still must experience the natural consequences. Several people asked me how to deal with this reality and I would like to suggest three ideas:
- Go in grace. First, every Christian must learn to live in the grace of God, both in good times and difficult ones. To properly experience the natural consequences of life mistakes, we learn to pray the prayer of the psalmist: “Be gracious to me O Lord.”
- Pursue your potential. Second, we continue to pursue our full potential even if it becomes less than what it might have been. We continue to strive to be the soul that God is ambitious for us to be.
- Support one another. Third, we follow the example of the apostle Paul and seek Divine comfort along with the commitment of comforting others who experience life mistakes with the same comfort that God gives to us.
We must never believe that any sin or failure destroys the love and care our heavenly Father has for us. We must always practice true faith and hope, believing that “God is at work in us, both to will and to work according to His own good pleasure” (Ephesians 1:9). And we must continue believing that God commonly uses even the most difficult moments of our lives to mature our eternal souls and glorify His name.
