"Fully Mature”
Dear Friend,
“Therefore you be perfect as your Heavenly Father is perfect.”
Matthew 5:48
Was Christ serious when He asked us to be perfect? If He was, then how does He expect us to achieve that height of quality? Perhaps we misunderstand this passage. The Greek word translated “perfect” is also commonly translated “complete” or “mature.” If we translate the verse this way, then Christ is saying “Grow up.”
We all do well when we examine our attitudes and behaviors with the purpose of growing up. Where do you need to grow up? Christ is ready to work with you so that you can be fully mature just like our Heavenly Father.
