“Climb Higher ”
Dear Friend,
Ladders permit us to reach higher than our natural heights. The rungs of the ladder permit us to reach a little higher one step at a time. For many, the higher you climb on the ladder, the more comfort you feel in clinging to the rungs. It requires courage, experience and confidence to climb beyond the security of holding on to the rungs of the ladder.
To reach our highest in life, we must move forward one step at a time – finding security in gripping and releasing those people and things that provide security.
Last Sunday, we learned the importance of the life skill of refraining. Perhaps we would all profit from asking ourselves three questions:
- What keeps me from climbing higher in life?
- What securities have I outgrown and are holding me down?
- How can I develop the courage, experience and confidence to refrain from holding on, and to stand at the top of my life ladder?
“The Lord upholds all who are falling and raises up all who are bowed down.”
Psalm 145:14
I encourage you to live life to the fullest, to climb to your highest, and to refrain from the fear of falling. The Lord is our secure ladder.
