"Life-long Learning”
Dear Friend,
ILiving, or perhaps surviving, life requires learning new things. We simply can’t survive in an ever-changing world without learning. In my life time, computers moved from expensive massive machines located in large businesses and universities to personal portable devices. And we all learned a variety of computer skills to adapt to the computerized world.
To live an effective spiritual, emotional and intellectual life, we must be life-long learners. Every new idea which we learn and apply to life helps us to live better and increases our capacity to understand progressive, more complex ideas. Do you have a learning plan? Are you learning attitudes and skills to be healthy in your heart, mind and soul? I suggest three approaches to this type of learning:
- Reading – Libraries and book stores are filled with great books to help you grow.
- Discussion – Our church offers many small group programs in which we discuss matters of the heart, mind and soul.
- Prayer – The Scriptures say, “Teach me Your way…” God is the great teacher. His Spirit enlightens our minds, stimulates our affections and empowers our eternal souls.
Offer a prayer to God today. Ask Him to teach you. Find a good book. Read it with a friend. Let’s all grow together into our full potential. Amen!
