"Live Purposefully ”
Dear Friend,
I have a life habit of reading the biographies of outstanding men and women. I am presently reading Tough Choices by Carly Fiorina. Carly was the CEO of Hewlett Packard. In her book, she recounts one of the most important experiences of her life: quitting law school and pursuing a career in business.
Carly’s experience seems to be representative of many other biographies. Successful people reach a point in their lives where they determine the purpose for which they will live. The Bible affirms defining a life purpose and investing our thinking, energy and resources to achieve it. Even our Lord Jesus Christ stated His life purpose when He proclaimed in Mark 10:45:
“I did not come into the world to be served, but to serve,
and give My life as a ransom for many.”
I suggest that you invest some time and attempt to write your life purpose in a single sentence. Then, use your purpose statement to remind you of your priority in life and to check yourself regularly with that priority. We can live well and we can live meaningful lives, but only if we live purposefully.
