A New Habit

Dear Friend,

Allyson Lewis wrote in her recent book, The Seven Minute Difference; "Life is a series of daily habits." I believe that many of us try to start new habits at the beginning of a new year. If we establish new habits that direct us every day toward our life purpose, we live well. On the other hand, if we repeat our bad habits year after year, we steal a quality life from ourselves.

Allyson Lewis suggests a daily practice that may help you establish a new good habit in your life. She recommends saving seven minutes at the end of your work day for thinking about the next day. You might sit down at the end of your day today and make a to-do list for tomorrow.

This daily practice or new habit produces three beneficial results:

  • It reduces some of your anxiety and permits you to have a better evening of rest.
  • It encourages your subconscious mind to organize, problem solve, and question while you sleep.
  • It permits you to "hit the ground running."

You will begin your day energized, organized, and with a sense of purpose.

Proverbs 13:19 teaches: Desire realized is sweet to the soul.

When we organize our work to accomplish our desires, it effects the quality of our life and the richness of our soul.

God bless you as you engage in creating new habits to live well in 2007.
