Want to be the best mom possible?
You are not alone!
MOPS stands for “mothers of preschoolers” – but don’t let that confuse you. MOPS is an exciting program designed to encourage, support and nurture all mothers with children from conception through kindergarten. Although MOPS moms come from a variety of backgrounds and life experiences, we all share the desire to be the best mothers we can be.
Motherhood is what brings us together and allows us to build a community. Our MOPS community helps encourage and equip moms to be more confident in our mothering roles by providing the opportunity to learn from each other’s shared experiences, as well as learning from special speakers and mentor moms who’ve already been through this phase of life and survived! The relationships created during MOPS meetings can be a lifeline for a mom who feels isolated, underpaid, underappreciated and overwhelmed. Our MOPS family provides a caring and accepting atmosphere where moms can enjoy speakers, small group discussions, creative activities, encouragement, inspiration, and food.
We’d love for you to join us as we grow as moms and as friends!
Meeting Schedule
Child Care
During our MOPS meetings, your children will be cared for in a program called MOPPETS, which provides a loving and safe environment for them. It is a compliment to the Christ Church programming during the weekend services. Age appropriate activites, including crafts, Bible stories, music, book reading, and imaginative play will be enjoyed during their time in MOPPETS.
Registration/Fee Information
MOPS International Fee:
This fee of $23.95 goes directly to MOPS International and must be paid upon registration. Each member of MOPS international receives a subscription to the bi-monthly magazine MomSense, as well as weekly Mom-E-Mail, MOPS reusable shopping bag, stickers and iron on appliques.
Christ Church MOPS Meeting Fee:
As part of MOPS here at Christ Church, there is an additional fee to help offset the group meeting costs, such as childcare workers and snacks, craft supplies, speakers, food, training and curriculum. We strive to keep costs minimal since we know first-hand that being a mother of preschoolers usually means having limited funds. Below are the options for paying the meeting fees:
- Pay for the whole year in advance
- Morning: $75 (15 meetings)
- Evening: $45 (9 meetings)
- Pay half the year
- Morning: $30 in September; $45 in January
- Evening: $20 in September; $25 in January
- Pay at each meeting
- $6
If you pay for the whole year on or before the first meeting, you will be entered in a raffle for the chance to win:
- A MOPS goodie bag, including the book, MomSense, by Jean Blackmer (this is the book that coordinates with our MOPS theme this year!)
MOPS is intended to welcome every mother with children from conception through kindergarten. Please do not allow the cost to influence your decision to join. If you would like information about scholarships, please contact Ann Marie Durkin at (440) 236-8282 ext. 219.
