To organize and disciple men to seek God’s direction and blessing on behalf of the staff, leaders, ministries, mission, vision, and goals of Christ Church.

Overcomer’s Outreach

Ministry Purpose
Overcomer’s Outreach is a support group offering readings, discussions, and fellowship for individuals who have identified patterns of addiction in their lives. The group uses The Twelve Steps for Christians and The Life Recovery Bible as texts for studying and applying the 12 steps of recovery into practical tools for living a Christ-centered productive life. Anonymity of group members is protected. 

Who:
People with – or family members of people with – alcohol, drug, gambling, sexual addictions or eating disorders.

Overcomer’s Outreach for Families

Ministry Purpose
Overcomer’s Outreach for Families is not a group for the addiction, it is for You! Through the 12-Steps and the Scriptures, we find friends, encouragement, support and tools to help us deal with life.

Who:
Family members of people with – alcohol, drug, gambling, sexual addictions or eating disorders.

Divorce Care

Ministry Purpose
To encourage those who are hurting from a divorce or separation by bringing them closer to God through Jesus Christ. Attend divorce care small group and share what God is doing in your own life. 

Who:
Divorced and separated people who need to experience God’s grace. Also, those who have found God’s grace in their pain and have a desire to share that grace with others.

Surrendering the Secret

Surrendering the Secret is a powerful 8-week study that helps women experiencing the hurt of abortion find the path to healing through honest, interactive Bible study. All contact is confidential.

Traumatic Brain Injury and Stroke

Handwritten Card

Ministry Purpose
To show the love of Christ to people through the handwritten card. 

Volunteer Positions 

  • Take a card request from the church office or request form.
  • Write an encouraging word and send a card to the recipient.
  • Attend ministry meetings

2—3 hours per month

Grief Share 

GriefShare is a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult experiences. You don’t have to go through the grieving process alone. 

GriefShare seminars and support groups are led by people who understand what you are going through and want to help. You’ll gain access to valuable GriefShare resources to help you recover from your loss and look forward to rebuilding your life.

Funeral Team

Ministry Purpose
Sharing the love of Christ with families during there time of grief and lose. 

Volunteer Positions 

  • Coordinators: Support families by verifying arrangements with funeral homes and calculating how much food is needed for the after service lunch.
  • Phone callers: Making phone calls to recruit food and all that is needed for after funeral lunches.
  • Servers: A team of people to be at the location to receive and help setup the lunch

Time Commitment
Times: 2 to 3 hrs.
Days: as needed

  • A loving and compassionate heart
  • Enjoys talking on the phone
  • Good organizational skills
  • Dependable
  • Works well on short notice

Family Life

Ministry Purpose
Minister to married couples inside and outside the church by improving there relationship skills and spiritual connection to God. 

Volunteer Positions 

  • Participate in marriage small groups.
  • Also help plan and implement couples small groups, marriage workshops and social events.

Time Commitment
Times: 2hrs per month
Days: Sunday or Saturday
Location: one of the couple’s homes 

Skills and Talents
A desire to grow in your own marriage relationship and share that growth with others.

Marriage Mentoring

Ministry Purpose
The mission of the Marriage Mentoring Ministry is to honor God by preparing couples to enter into the vow of marriage. Through awareness of strengths and growth areas, couples will learn to share feelings and ideas, work together, and communicate more effectively. Our purpose is to illustrate God’s principles of marriage with the goal of a life long commitment. 

Volunteer Positions
Work as role models; sharing life experiences, helping couples work on their weaknesses and rely on their strengths. Use God’s Word to work through five key areas of marriage. 

Time Commitment
Times: Group meetings once a month
Additional time when mentoring
Days: second Sunday of the month
