If you are interested in joining Christ Church, attend this group to learn more. Together, we will explore the history, mission and opportunities at Christ Church—as well as review basic theology. Christ Church Theology 101

The world is filled with many theological views which naturally lead to many questions. If you’ve been wondering what Christ Church really believes, this class provides a clear explanation of the fundamentals. All learners are welcome—especially Christ Church Life Group Leaders, Teachers, Deacons, and Team Leaders.

Structure of the Bible – Old Testament
(Thursdays, Jan. 12 – Jan. 26, 7:00 p.m.)
Learn to be a theologian! It’s one thing to be taught the Bible, but a whole new world opens up when you fall in love with God’s Word. Learn the basics of Bible interpretation, timelines, and how to create your own thesis statement.
Exegesis
(Four Wednesday Classes, Jan. 11, Feb. 22, Mar. 14, Apr. 11, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.)
Dr. Collings will continue to lead an in-depth verse by verse study of the Gospel of John including lectures on the structure of the Bible and a thesis for each book of the Bible.

Calvin’s Institute
(Thursdays, Jan. 12 – March 15, 6:00 p.m.)
This class, taught by Dr. Collings, takes an in-depth look at the theological writings of John Calvin. If you want to dig deeper and sharpen your theology, this class is for you!

I Peter
(Thursdays, Jan. 12 – March 8, 7:00 p.m.)
Christ called Peter from his fishing business and chose him for special leadership training. After the crucifixion, Peter saw the resurrected Christ. About 30 years after the resurrection, Peter wrote a letter which we believe explains his three decades of thinking about living out the teachings of Jesus Christ. In this study, we will divide I Peter into paragraphs and mine the rich ideas in the pursuit of spiritual growth.

If you are a life group leader or are interested in hosting your own life group, this five-week course is for you! You will be equipped to help others connect to a life with God, provide the warmth of a smaller group, and develop close friendships.

This powerful book by Bill Hybels, Willow Creek Community Church Lead Pastor, provides inspiration and vision for what can happen when you intentionally listen for God’s inspiration and vision and respond decisively to what you hear.
II Samuel
(Thursdays, Jan. 12 – Feb. 9, 7:00 p.m.)
King David is one of the most renowned characters in the Bible. In this study, we will look atg some of the heroic qualities that made him “a man after God’s own heart.” Join us as we aspire to learn these qualities and live them out in our own lives.
Legacy Planning
(Sunday, Feb. 5, 12:30 p.m.)
You are invited to an hour long discussion with local Insurance Broker and Investment Advisor, Nicole Brewer, who will be reviewing Legacy Planning. We will discuss how to protect assets from probate and protect your families’ quality of life upon your passing. This workshop will highlight the minimum estate documents you need and the different options of final expense and legacy planning.
